MILVETS is currently seeking a full-time, highly experienced VMWare ESXi Administrator with 10-15 years of demonstrated expertise in designing, deploying, and maintaining VMware infrastructure in enterprise and data center environments. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical knowledge of VMware ESXi, vCenter, and virtual desktop solutions, combined with strong skills in Windows domain architecture and integration. This role requires hands-on experience in building and supporting secure, scalable, and high-availability virtual environments while ensuring compliance with organizational standards and industry best practices. The VMWare ESXi Administrator will play a key role in supporting IT infrastructure operations, implementing new solutions, and ensuring the stability and performance of mission-critical systems. Key Responsibilities: Design, deploy, and administer VMware infrastructure components including ESXi hosts, vCenter Server, and associated management tools. Manage and maintain virtualized environments supporting high availability, scalability, and secure operations. Oversee Microsoft Windows domain architecture, including Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP, ensuring seamless integration with VMware infrastructure. Configure, administer, and support virtual desktop environments (e.g., Horizon View), VM templates, snapshots, and virtual networking. Provision and manage storage systems (iSCSI, NFS, VMFS), including patch management, backup, and disaster recovery planning. Conduct capacity planning, system monitoring, and performance tuning to proactively address infrastructure issues. Follow formal change management processes, maintaining accurate documentation in alignment with organizational standards. Collaborate with stakeholders to support IT infrastructure projects and operational objectives. Technical Expertise: VMware ESXi and vCenter design, deployment, and administration. Windows Server domain deployment, management, and configuration. Virtual desktop environments (Horizon View or equivalent). Storage provisioning (iSCSI, NFS, VMFS) and backup/disaster recovery solutions. Active Directory integration and Group Policy management. Network and virtual network configuration in VMware environments. Capacity planning, performance monitoring, and troubleshooting in enterprise virtualized environments. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in an IT-related field or Level II DoD 8570 Certification (Security+ or higher). Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in VMware infrastructure design, deployment, and administration. Demonstrated experience with Windows domain management in support of VMware environments. Strong communication skills with ability to document and present technical solutions. Preferred Attributes: VMware Certified Professional (VCP) certification, preferably in Cloud Foundation. Microsoft Server certification. Security+ or higher DoD 8570 certification. Proven experience creating and administering virtual desktop infrastructures (VDI). Hands-on experience with capacity planning, resource optimization, and infrastructure scalability. Familiarity with formal change management processes and ITIL best practices.
