Overview
The Jr. Estimator will provide and/or coordinate all support services to the Sr. Estimators associated with the preparation of bids and proposals. Responsibilities
Bid setup, summary form data entry, and bid scheduling. Review and incorporate historical data from productivity analysis reports, etc. into unit and man-hour figures. Provide take-off and technical support to Sr. Estimators preparing larger estimates. Review proposal specifications, drawings, attend pre-bid meetings, etc. to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate. Heavy Bid maintenance (labor, crew, activity, and bid master codebooks). Solicit, document, and analyze subcontractor/vendors quotations. Ensure all working documents and data are maintained to back-up estimate figures. Provide award related submittals. Assist the contracting team during preparation of inquiries and final evaluation of submitted bids as required. Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction. Qualifications
Education and experience requirements include B.S. Degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Environmental Engineering and/or equivalent combinations technical training and/or related experience. Cost estimating curriculum preferred. Ability to work well in a team environment. Software Skills: Microsoft Office applications. Trimble or CADD experience a plus. Scheduling software/CPM (including Primavera and MS Project). Familiarity with cloud-based software solutions. Reports to: Director of Pre-Construction and Estimating. Location: Houston, TX.
