The ideal candidate has experience managing all procedures and personnel during harvest and post-harvest processing of cannabis flowers in a commercial setting. They must be familiar with large volume curing techniques, high-quality precision trimming, and METRC compliance. The Flower Processing Lead will report to the Flower Processing Supervisor for all tasks.
The Flower Processing Lead will be required to learn different cultivars/strains, and how to trim/cure each cultivar based on its individual characteristics. A large portion of the Flower Processing Leads role will rely on smell, feel, and experience to determine if product is at the ideal time to be packaged. This position requires good leadership and interpersonal skills while managing a staff of upward of 20 technicians.
Responsibilities include: Delegation of all flower processing related tasks(harvest, buckdown, trimming, etc.) to be completed on time outlined in the annual cultivation schedule Ensuring METRC compliance; using the provided excel sheets to track corresponding Metrc plant tags during and after harvest Daily data entry and recording of all plant material weights into corresponding harvest cycle spreadsheets Training employees to perform all dry flower processing tasks according to the SOP Oversight of all flower processing related tasks, making sure employees are following SOPs, and issuing corrective action when employees do not follow SOPs Management of both full-time and temporary employees: scheduling workflow, track working hours, and ensuring meal/rest break compliance Curing of all product post-processing; using the time frames outlined in the SOP in conjunction with sensory judgment to determine when a batch is ready for packaging Coordinate with the Packaging Manager to forecast time and volume of product ready for packaging Any other task assigned by the Flower Processing Supervisor or Processing Manager. Qualifications: For extended periods, must be capable of sitting, squatting, standing, kneeling, bending, or walking through the workday. Must be able to exert well-paced mobility and perform repetitive tasks for up to 8 hours in length. Must be able to adapt to fast-paced production environment while maintaining quality and accuracy. Must be able to work a weekly schedule of Sunday-Thursday OR Tuesday-Saturday after initial training period is completed. Compensation + Benefits: Pay Range: $23.00-$24.00/hour Benefit package includes medical, dental, vision, Life/AD&D, 401K with company match, paid time off, and holidays.
