Estimator - Cabling

Estimator – Cabling Estimator – Cabling role is focused on the support of Sales Team in the procurement of Alarm, Security and Fire Alarm and Life Safety construction projects. This position will provide cost estimation and create SOW in response to Alarm estimating requests. The ideal candidate will have industry experience and knowledge of the configuration and design of Alarm Systems as well as some knowledge of Security System Design and Installation. Duties & Responsibilities: Process estimating requests and maintain a schedule of ongoing estimates. Read and interpret project documents such as blueprints and specifications. Conduct risk analysis and identify contract variables and unique requirements. Develop job takeoffs based on required material and labor. Work with material vendors and product partners to obtain competitive project pricing. Create project scope of work based on project requirements and site conditions. Present cost estimates to company stakeholders and participate in review discussions. Maintain up to date database for pricing and system component model numbers. Analyze projects to determine unique cost drivers. Maintain orderly documentation and hand off awarded projects to project management team. Qualifications: At least 5 years of industry experience in fire alarm and life safety. Familiarity with Fire Alarm system configuration and design standards. Familiar with structured cabling, intrusion, video surveillance and access control systems. Knowledge of local building codes and cabling standards Ability to work under pressure and manage priorities. Proficiency with MS Office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint. Task oriented mindset instead of work schedule based. Possess good communication skills.
