Position Summary The Senior Payroll Supervisor is responsible for leading the end-to-end payroll function across multi-state and international operations. This role ensures payroll accuracy, compliance, and timeliness while overseeing payroll staff, developing efficient processes, and partnering with cross-functional teams to support business and regulatory requirements. The Senior Payroll Supervisor also plays a key role in process improvement, internal controls, and supporting organizational initiatives.

1. Payroll Operations Oversight: Direct and manage multi-state, international, and complex payroll operations, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with all applicable regulations. Oversee payroll processing, including regular and off-cycle runs, tax filings, benefit deductions, and wage garnishments. Supervise payroll audits, bank reconciliations, and payroll integration with the general ledger. Review, approve, and release payrolls in compliance with internal controls, support year-end processes and audit requirements. Maintain complete and accurate payroll records to ensure audit readiness. Provide strategic oversight of compliance-related processes such as garnishments, benefit taxation, and unclaimed property. Lead, mentor, and develop the payroll team to ensure deadlines, accuracy, and service standards are consistently met. Oversee performance management, training, and succession planning to foster a skilled, accountable, and engaged team. Ensure compliance with time and attendance policies while supporting accurate labor reporting. Promote a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement. 3. Compliance & Risk Management Ensure payroll compliance with federal, state, local, and international laws, as well as company policies. Serve as a point of contact for auditors and regulatory agencies, providing documentation and reports as needed. Monitor legislative and regulatory changes, implementing updates to payroll practices to mitigate risks. 4. Systems & Process Improvement

Collaborate with HRIS, Finance, and IT on payroll system upgrades, testing, integrations, and new implementations. Identify and implement automation and process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce errors. Maintain and enhance internal controls and payroll process documentation. 5. Cross-Functional Collaboration & Reporting

Partner with HR, Benefits, Finance, and Legal to ensure payroll processes align with business objectives and compliance standards. Provide accurate payroll data, analytics, and insights to leadership for decision-making. Support strategic initiatives, including reorganizations, mergers/acquisitions, and benefits changes. Maintain reliable and consistent attendance. Participate in special projects, task forces, or committees as assigned. Qualification Requirements

7+ years of progressive payroll experience, including at least 3 years in a supervisory role. Strong understanding of multi-state and/or international payroll regulations, tax laws, and compliance standards. Experience with payroll systems such as Dayforce, ADP, Workday, or other global software’s. Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with payroll reporting. Strong leadership, coaching, and team development abilities. Exceptional attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to meet tight deadlines. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Preferred Requirements

Payroll Professional, with experience in multi-state or international payroll environments. Proficient in payroll and time & attendance systems, especially Dayforce and ADP platforms. Excellent customer service and communication skills across all organizational levels. Adaptable to dynamic environments, skilled in managing multiple priorities, and passionate about training and developing others. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and apply insights to payroll processes. Knowledgeable in tax reciprocity rules and payroll compliance regulations.
