Overview

Graduate Program Development Assistant, PHRCR (Student) role at American University. This position is available only to enrolled American University students. Summary

The Graduate Program Development Assistant will work with the Department Manager and Chair for the School of International Services Ethics, Peace and Human Rights, Intercultural and International Communication, and International Peace and Conflict Resolution programs. They will provide administrative and programmatic support for departmental initiatives related to alumni engagement, career development, teacher training, and faculty affairs. The role involves tracking program goals, coordinating professional development activities, and supporting data-driven initiatives. Responsibilities Assist in planning and implementing career and professional development programs for graduate students. Coordinate communication and outreach with alumni, including tracking career outcomes. Support efforts related to teaching development and training for graduate students. Maintain databases related to alumni, careers, and department initiatives. Help prepare reports and presentations on departmental program metrics and outcomes. Collaborate on faculty affairs tasks, such as organizing committee documentation or department initiatives. Provide general administrative support.

Position Type and Hours

Part-Time 10 to 20 hours per week 0 - 50% remote work May require occasional evening in-person or virtual event attendance

Salary Range

$17.95 - $22.00 per hour

Required Education and Experience

Currently enrolled AU graduate student Strong written communication skills Excellent time management skills Ability to work self-sufficiently on assigned tasks
