Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Senior Network Engineer - TS/SCI to support a high-impact initiative with an organization in Oakton, Virginia. The Senior Network Engineer - TS/SCI role is onsite (5 days a week) for 6 months and focused on enhancing network visibility, security, and performance monitoring across complex environments.
Responsibilities for the Senior Network Engineer - TS/SCI include:
Analyze PCAP data to identify threats, anomalies, and performance issues Establish and maintain baseline profiles for "normal" network behavior Conduct protocol-level analysis (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/S, SMTP, TLS, VPN) Develop technical and non-technical reports, summaries, and actionable insights Tune alerts, dashboards, and data feeds based on network traffic sources Mentor junior engineers and analysts on advanced traffic analysis techniques Document and improve troubleshooting procedures (e.g., MTU/fragmentation) Requirements for the Senior Network Engineer - TS/SCI include:
Active TS/SCI clearance Ability to work onsite Monday - Friday in Oakton, Virginia 5+ years of Network Engineering experience (Route/Switch) Deep experience in network traffic analysis and protocol-level troubleshooting Proficiency in analyzing PCAP data and tuning monitoring tools. Strong documentation and reporting skills. Must be eligible to work in the United States. Compensation for the Senior Network Engineer -TS/SCI includes:
