Information Technology Systems Infrastructure And Networking Specialist
Designs, plans, and implements the installation and configuration of the court information technology network, communications infrastructure, and computer systems within the Information Technology Services Division. Responsible for performing all duties associated with providing the day-to-day support and maintenance for the infrastructure at all court locations. Essential functions include developing procedures required to maintain and support on-going computing needs, creating and maintaining capacity plans and disaster recovery plans for the infrastructure, assisting in establishing and justifying operating and investment budgets, providing cost and time estimates for new requirements, ensuring smooth transition of new systems into production, providing domain management services, ensuring associated system components and jobs are properly scheduled and operational, and ensuring backups and storage management procedures are implemented and adhered to. Additional responsibilities include participating in court administrative and operational studies and projects, serving as liaison with internal and external agencies on technical committees, performing other related duties and projects as assigned, and ensuring proper coordination and communication with customers and internal staff to identify and resolve customer problems and concerns associated with supported software applications. Knowledge of existing and emerging technology for network and computer system operations, security, testing, implementation and support is required, along with knowledge of traffic engineering and management, wireless networking protocols, network and wireless security assessment/intrusion detection and risk mitigation strategies and solutions, directory services and policy management, standard concepts, practices, and procedures within database administration, management and administrative responsibilities such as goal setting, performance management, project management, planning and delivering technical support services, and strategic planning principles. Skills implementing and engineering a virtual server environment, designing and implementing automation tasks using scripting languages, operation of computer servers, operating systems, project management software, computer backup and recovery operations, network configuration and operation, and operation of desktop computers, routers, hubs, switches, gateways, packet analyzers, and firewalls are required. Ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of superior court employees including judges, judicial staff, court leadership and administration, vendors, and the general public is required. A Bachelor's degree with a major in computer science, management information systems, or a related field, and five (5) years of experience in network operations, computer systems operation and configuration is required. Must have a valid Arizona driver's license at the time of appointment. A classified position that reports to the Manager, Systems Infrastructure and Networking. The incumbent performs duties under general supervision and has no supervisory responsibilities.
