Position Summary:
Develop and maintain corporate SQL Server databases to ensure data integrity, security, retention, and recoverability.
Design, build, test, and deploy database solutions aligned with project objectives and best practices.
dminister enterprise-wide data architecture and implement complex data structures.
Manage daily operations of corporate databases.
Create and administer database objects to maximize availability, efficiency, and supportability.
Essential Job Functions:
Perform database administration tasks (installation, configuration, upgrades, patching, migration, capacity planning, performance tuning, backup, and recovery). Provide 24x7 rotational on-call support, including Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and preventative actions. Manage change processes across development, test, QA, and production environments. Proactively monitor databases and resolve issues. Optimize databases and T-SQL (performance tuning, query optimization). Participate in projects involving database enhancements and design decisions. Implement database security policies aligned with corporate standards. Evaluate patch releases and manage deployment timelines. Support high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) architectures. Maintain documentation on databases and data architecture. Support data management (ETL, archive, purge). Conduct capacity planning and generate weekly/monthly reports. ssist in project sizing, design reviews, and cost/resource estimates. Perform other duties as assigned. Position Requirements:
8+ years of SQL Server DBA experience. Expertise in SQL Server versions (2012-2016); knowledge of 2019 & 2022 upgrades. Experience with database backups, ETL, and archiving using native SQL tools. Proficient in diagnostic tools (DBCC, SQL Profiler, third-party tools). Knowledge of partitioning architecture. Experience with BI tools (SSIS, SSAS, SSRS, SharePoint). Strong T-SQL, PowerShell, and tuning/debugging skills. Familiarity with SQL Server Manager, Visual Studio, DTS/SSIS, Profiler. Experience with replication, mirroring, and HA/DR solutions. bility to manage security/access for diverse user groups. Work well under pressure with tight deadlines. Self-motivated with strong prioritization skills. daptable to fast-paced environments. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Strong organizational and analytical abilities. Preferred Qualifications:
Microsoft Certified Database Administrator (MCDBA) or higher. Data modeling and metadata management experience. Knowledge of .NET applications or virtual environments. Oracle DBA experience is a plus. Must Have:
8+ years of hands-on SQL Server DBA experience. Expertise in backup/recovery, HA/DR, and performance tuning. Strong T-SQL, PowerShell, SSIS/SSRS skills.
