This role is based in Jacksonville, Florida and offers a hybrid work environment of 3 in-office days and 2 remote days during the work week.

Overview The Infrastructure Platform Engineering team is a new initiative within Paysafe Technology Operations to provide a modern Self-Service Provisioning platform, tooling and lifecycle management of SaaS Infrastructure that would benefit hundreds of developers, SRE, Operations and Security teams. We are seeking a Lead Platform Engineer who brings knowledge and experience in infrastructure engineering across global tech operations to build a self-service platform to drive automation. This opportunity involves building a global, multi-stack self-service platform with global infrastructure experience, multi-cloud and DevOps expertise, cross-functional leadership and architecture responsibilities on a high-impact, greenfield project.

Responsibilities

Designs, builds, and maintains software development platforms including managing configurations across various environments, ensuring applications run smoothly.

Optimizes the platform with self-service actions for developers to work efficiently and autonomously.

Collaborates across departments by working closely with architecture and support teams to deliver secure, reliable, and scalable solutions across a mix of traditional (data centers, backup/restore, compute) and modern technologies (cloud, containerization, serverless).

Advocates for modern tools and automation to make development more efficient.

Empowers developers with self-service tools to easily manage their services and infrastructure, reducing bottlenecks and boosting productivity.

Reduces cognitive load and technical debt by standardizing workflows and ensuring adherence to best practices, and by replicating and validating configs across DR and globally distributed sites.

Encourages collaboration by standardizing best practices, automating and documenting processes to reduce silos.

Required Skills

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field of study

10 years of software engineering experience with at least 2+ years of experience in platform engineering with self-service solutions

SaaS solution experience with a large multinational company

Proficiency in more than two low-level coding languages like Python, Java, C++, Go, or Bash

Experience with Internal Developer Platform tooling (IDP), workflow automations, build applications, and debugging complex systems to streamline infrastructure and optimize workflows

Cloud computing expertise (AWS, Azure, GCP) with experience in core AWS services (VPC, RDS, S3, IAM, EKS, EC2, CloudWatch)

Experience with operationalizing IaaS and PaaS solutions for deploying, scaling, and maintaining cloud-based applications

Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration

Infrastructure as Code (IaC) experience with Terraform, Ansible; automating compute, networking, and CI/CD pipelines for SaaS delivery

Implementation experience with Platform Engineering libraries like Pulumi and SpaceLift

Networking and Linux administration experience with knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP) and Linux administration

Experience managing and configuring DNS services like Route 53 or Cloudflare, plus understanding of security practices like RBAC, AD Integration, and Domain Controller

CI/CD pipeline management with GitHub, GitLab, Jenkins, JFrog, AWS CI/CD Tools, and experience with GitHub Actions, Argo Workflows, and Jenkins

Monitoring and logging tools such as Datadog, Grafana, ELK; knowledge of Event Management architecture, Service Maps, MTTD/MTTR reduction

Experience with microservices and distributed systems at scale

Integrating security controls into the code-to-cloud journey with experience in EDR/XDR tooling, Cloud Security Posture Management, and Windows and Linux access control

PKI, certificate lifecycle management, secrets management, Azure Key Vault, AWS Certificate Manager, and HashiCorp Vault

Experience leading cross-team projects, managing timelines and resources, and communicating progress or risks to stakeholders

Participation in on-call SRE, incident management, and root-cause analysis

Experience with Agile practices like Scrum and Kanban and the ability to guide both junior and senior developers
