This role is onsite 5 days a week in Santa Fe Springs, CA About the Role: The Sr. Category Buyer is responsible for executing merchandising strategies, sourcing products, and building assortments to optimize performance in order to increase profitability and drive growth within the Chinese category. The ideal candidate possesses a keen understanding of market trends and strong negotiation skills and thrives in a fast-paced environment, balancing both strategies and hands-on execution to optimize sales and operations. With an analytical background, you will also play with different dataset across user / GMV / New SKU performance rating to drive actionable insights. What you will do: Drive growth in our Chinese category by developing and implementing strategies that enhance quality, reduce costs, and optimize our supply chain efficiency Develop clear future-looking category roadmaps, highlighting key assortment themes, seasonal shifts, and margin drivers for the next 2- 4 quarters Conduct deep data driven competitor and market analysis, spanning U.S. retailers and evolving trends within the Chinese Market in order to uncover trends, identify gaps and growth opportunities to differentiate our product offerings Lead strategic vendor negotiations with suppliers to secure favorable terms, pricing and reliable supply Lead the execution of key seasonal campaigns and evaluate their performance through comprehensive post-event reviews Ensure vendor compliance with food safety, documentation, and sustainability standards Review purchase orders and payments, and address operational issues to ensure smooth collaborations with the vendors What you will need: Must have: 5+ years of relevant industry experience in buying, sourcing, or merchandising Strong understanding of Chinese customer behavior and product preferences Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Tableau, or similar platforms) to support decision-making and category performance evaluation Advanced understanding of procurement systems, processes, and tools, with the ability to troubleshoot and optimize their use Strong Business Acumen- Understanding how decisions impact financial performance and strategy Proactive thinker, with strong work ethic and integrity Strong problem-solving mindset with the ability to act like an owner: proactive, accountable, and driven by outcomes Excellent negotiation, relationship-building, business analytical skills and project management skills Nice to have: Experience with high-growth e-commerce or startup environments Supply chain or operation background with an understanding of vendor lead times and logistics flow 10+ years of experience. Points credits Compensation Range The US base salary range for this full-time position is $91,500-107,000 This role may be eligible to discretionary bonus, incentives and benefits Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum base salary for new hires for the position across all US locations.
