Software Engineer
At Lockheed Martin Rotary and Mission Systems (RMS), we're at the forefront of developing secure, high-performance systems that support national defense and security. Our team specializes in Secure FPGA and Secure Processing applications, integrating advanced technologies to deliver mission-critical solutions. As a software engineer, you'll be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining C++ code for secure processing applications. You'll develop new applications and maintain legacy code utilized in other applications. You'll maintain and enhance CI/CD pipelines to streamline development processes. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop, test, and deliver both prototype and fully capable systems. You'll ensure software solutions meet stringent security and performance standards. This work is conducted in a classified environment and is fulltime onsite in Owego, NY. U.S. citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD government security clearance at the Secret level is required. Basic qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in a STEM field from an accredited institution with 5 years experience or a Master's degree and 3 years related experience. Proficiency in C++ is required, along with knowledge of hardware communication protocols such as PCIe, SPI, and I2C. Experience creating and configuring embedded Linux images is also required. Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD government clearance at the Secret level is required, as well as 2 or more years of Embedded Software engineering experience. Desired skills include familiarity with assembly C, comfortable developing test plans and documents for software verification, experience developing boot applications prior to OS coming up, and DevSecOps experience. This position requires a government security clearance, and you must be a US citizen for consideration. The clearance level is Secret. The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility in Owego, NY. The schedule for this position is 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week. The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $89,300 - $157,550. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
