Responsibilities and Qualifications
Goldman Sachs Asset Management (GSAM) seeks an attorney with asset management experience, including distribution of registered investment companies such as mutual funds, ETFs, and closed-end funds, as well as separately managed accounts and model portfolios through broker-dealers, registered investment advisers, and technology platforms. The role focuses on the distribution and marketing of these funds and portfolios, which invest in securities across various asset classes, including equity, debt, credit, real estate, infrastructure, and impact investing. The attorney will support portfolio management teams in negotiating investment management agreements with large institutional clients and contribute to strategic initiatives related to GSAM's public investing and third-party wealth businesses. Key responsibilities include identifying legal and reputational risks, managing external counsel, and participating in relevant committees. The legal team also provides ongoing support on advisory, regulatory, and asset management issues, particularly in response to evolving global regulations.
