The Business Development Manager Food Lifecycle Solutions will focus on selling clients the full suite of Nutrition 101s services, from responsible waste handling to innovative food byproduct recovery solutions. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying prospects, closing deals, and building lasting partnerships that drive growth while helping clients reduce waste and minimize their environmental impact. This role is ideal for individuals with experience in selling environmental services, food distribution or long-term contract sales in exclusive-type environments. Candidates with experience in negotiating long-term agreements and cultivating deep client relationships will find this opportunity especially rewarding. Key Responsibilities
Identify, approach, and secure new clients, focusing on food processors, distributors, and manufacturers looking to improve sustainability through innovative waste and byproduct management solutions aligned with the food waste hierarchy. Understand client needs and challenges to deliver tailored solutions that optimize their waste management processes, enhance sustainability practices, and maximize the remaining value of food waste while driving GHG reduction. Lead negotiations to secure long-term contracts that are mutually beneficial, balancing competitive pricing with sustainable margins and long-term value. Develop and implement strategies to penetrate new markets and sectors, focusing on industries where food waste and byproduct recovery are key concerns. Cultivate strong, long-term relationships with clients, positioning Nutrition 101 as a trusted partner in achieving their sustainability and waste management goals. Present the value proposition of our services, from comprehensive waste removal and byproduct conversion to our advanced de-packaging, drying, and transportation capabilitiesall while highlighting the environmental impact of our carbon-negative solutions. Stay ahead of industry trends and competitors, continuously refining sales approaches to improve market positioning and customer engagement. Work closely with internal teams to identify opportunities to bundle services or offer additional solutions that align with the clients needs and goals. Manage a broad sales territory, prioritizing opportunities in key U.S. regions while remaining flexible for high-potential markets globally. Continuously refine the sales process to improve efficiency, shorten sales cycles, and increase conversion rates. Qualifications
Proven experience in a fast-paced business development or sales sector such as waste management, sustainability services, dairy products, food distribution, or long-term contract sales environments. Expertise in negotiating and managing long-term contracts that drive sustainable business growth. Strong understanding of B2B sales processes with a consultative approach. Experience selling complex service solutions that require deep client engagement and relationship-building. Ability to assess client needs, identify pain points, and position solutions that drive value and align with sustainability goals, including GHG reduction. Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills. Ability to manage a broad sales territory and travel as needed to support customer operations and market expansion. Strategic mindset with a focus on consultative selling and value-based closing Exceptional communication, presentation and follow-up skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Skilled at uncovering clients fundamental buying motives and mapping solutions to their goals.
