Lakes Area Habitat for Humanity, Brainerd, Minnesota, United States, 56401
Whether we’re digging each other out of the snow or sharing a meal, Minnesota is a place where we look out for each other. Stable housing should not be something you have to think about- it should be something that families can count on every day. But when hard-working Minnesotans- from teachers and nurses to firefighters and waitresses- are struggling to keep up with rising housing costs in our community, you know there’s a problem. The goal of Habitat for Humanity is to make sure
everyone
has a safe, decent, affordable place to lay their heads at night. The work of Lakes Area Habitat for Humanity (LAHFH) is completed thanks to the efforts of hardworking volunteers, those with previous construction skills and those without, from businesses and churches to service groups and individuals. LAHFH is currently looking for volunteers on an ongoing basis to help on a number of homes. LAHFH currently has homes under construction in Hubbard, Cass, Crow Wing & Wadena counties, at different build stages. Raising walls, hanging siding, painting, flooring, and trim are but a few of the skills you can learn how to do while helping provide decent housing for a neighbor. Have free time? Can you swing a hammer or are you looking to learn a new skill? Join the fight against substandard housing with Lakes Area Habitat for Humanity.
