Diagnostic Imaging Specialist
The Cath Lab Radiologic Technologist serves as a vital assistant to Interventional Cardiologists during complex diagnostic and interventional procedures.
This role requires exceptional proficiency in scrubbing, monitoring, and circulating to guarantee the safe and successful execution of these high-stakes procedures.
Adeptness in X-ray equipment, hemodynamic monitoring, coronary and peripheral anatomy, and sterile technique is fundamental to achieving success in this position.
Specialized Expertise:
Accompany Electrophysiologists during non-invasive and invasive arrhythmia procedures, necessitating knowledge of X-ray equipment, arrhythmia monitoring, cardio structures, and sterile technique.
Partner with Interventional Radiologists on minimally invasive, image-guided vascular procedures, utilizing advanced fluoroscopy, computed tomography (CT), and ultrasound imaging equipment.
Support Neuro Interventional Radiologists during diagnostic and interventional procedures, demanding expertise in X-ray equipment, hemodynamic monitoring, cerebral angiogram coiling, and avascular malformations.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Effectively collaborate with Interventions in specialized areas, as described above.
Welcomingly greet patients upon arrival, verify necessary data in patient charts, inform RN/physician of any absence or abnormality, explain procedures, provide clear instructions, and respond to patients' inquiries.
Contribute to efficient room turnover and patient transport, support Radiation Safety officer with regular Quality Assurance checks of labs and radiation protective apparel, and execute duties upholding rigorous radiation safety standards.
Essential Qualifications:
ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support credential from American Heart Association.
ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists registration.
BLS - Basic Life Support credential from American Heart Association.
LIC - Licensed in Field from State of Ohio.
