We’re reimagining how these systems are built, deployed, and maintained—challenging long-held conventions in industrial automation. To be considered for this position you’ll be asked to complete a brief (less than 10 minutes) video pre-screen.ResponsibilitiesHelp define and build our Monitoring infrastructure, enabling us to scale our growing number of devices and deployments in the fieldCreate a strategy and implement tools, processes, and metrics to drive Formic monitoring structure toward 99.999% availabilityPartner with customer IT teams to create tools to ensure smooth integration of our systems with customer networksMonitor existing systems and resolve issues as necessarySupport provisioning of Monitoring infrastructure on new deploymentsRespond to issues detected by our automated monitoring infrastructureMonitor Grafana dashboards for any anomaliesWhat makes you a great fitBachelor’s degree in CS or equivalent experience and training5+ years of experience in DevOps and / or IT role with similar responsibilitiesExperience working with physical hardware is required (e.g. IT or DevOps support of cameras, television, automotive products, etc.)Experience partnering with external IT departments and customersDeep understanding of LinuxSolid understanding of physical networkingKnowledge of AWS infrastructure, including CloudFormation or TerraformPrevious experience or exposure to Robotics or IoT is a big plusKnowledge of Python is a plusWilling to work in-person as needed in either Los Angeles or San Francisco (Oakland)Willing and able to attend an in-person interview as part of the search process in either Los Angeles or San Francisco (Oakland)Our Total RewardsAt Formic, we believe you perform your best when you\'re supported in caring for yourself and your loved ones.
