Patient Accounts Team Leader

Leads a team of Patient Accounts Representatives to ensure timely and accurate billing services and customer support. Essential Functions: Oversees the delegation of responsibilities and the training of the Patient Accounts team. Ensures that all tasks are completed accurately and efficiently and that customer needs are met. Supports team in the verification and processing of patient charges and payments, communication with insurance companies and patients to resolve billing issues, and maintenance of accurate records of financial transactions. Collaborates with other departments, providers, families, and third-party payors to resolve billing needs and operational issues. Assists the Patients Accounts Supervisor in the monitoring and analysis of reports, identifying trends and recommending process improvements. Education Requirement: High school diploma, required. Associates degree, preferred. Licensure Requirement: (not specified) Certifications: (not specified) Skills: Knowledge of medical terminology, various claim forms, third party contracts and payment patterns, CPT and ICD9 coding, and reimbursement regulations and policies of third-party payers. The ability to do data entry and work a calculator. Problem identification and problem solving skills are required. Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. One year experience working on a mainframe computer. Experience using Outlook, Word and Excel, required.
