Voting Assistant Position

Front Counter Customer Service/Runners:

Heavy customer service at the counter and in the lobby printing receipts and standing all day and working on laptop computers. Must have excellent customer service and give special attention to detail. Data Entry/Phones:

Heavy phones and data entry. Will be interacting with voters regarding their ballots over the phone, registration card entry, checking addresses and signatures on petitions and making updates. Ballot Collection:

Primary duties will include providing support with Ballot Box Drop off locations throughout Riverside County. Must possess a valid California Driver's license and be willing to use personal vehicle for arriving at assigned locations. Mileage reimbursement provided. Voting Assistant Center Staff:

Primary duties will include providing Polling Place/Voter Assistance Center Site Lead and Assistant Lead coverage. Leading a team in all aspects of processing voters, time and volunteer management, problem solving, closing procedures. All candidates must attend a three-week training academy. Poll Call Center Staff:

Primary duties include providing support during the 2024 March Primary Election with the call center. Staff will be receiving calls from Elections Officers, resolving issues via phone, and escalating issues to Supervisors when appropriate. Vote Center Survey Staff:

Primary duties will include conducting Polling Place Accessibility Surveys leading up to the 2024 November Presidential Election. Warehouse:

Very fast-paced; frequent lifting up to 30 lbs. at a time. You can be utilized to drive trucks on errands, pick-ups and to polling sites. Knowledge of Excel. Deal with Edge polling units. Must verify seals (#'s), document and make sure seal is in appropriate area utilizing a scanner. Inventory items sent out to the polling areas including ballot boxes, flags, posters, bags containing pens, tables, chairs, etc. Warehouse Operations:

The majority of the duties listed above in warehouse including maintaining reports, entering notes into a database, and filing forms. Staff will also assist with pre and post-election duties. Ballot Counting:

Being able to stand and operate ballot counting equipment for extended periods of time (6-8 hours per day), lift 10 pounds of ballots repeatedly. Ballot Slicing/Opening:

Opening vote-by-mail envelopes and extracting ballots and/or assisting with the slicing process. This is a fast-paced environment, moving boxes and envelopes, and operating ballot extraction machinery. Ballot Sorters:

Sorting vote-by-mail envelopes, operating mail sorting equipment. This is a fast-paced environment, regular standing and requires some lifting. Ballot Staging:

Unfolding vote-by-mail ballots and prepping them for ballot counting. Parking Lot:

Requires standing all day. Will work within the provided EZ Up shelters collecting ballots from voters driving through the parking lot. Traffic Control:

The position requires staff to deploy equipment daily and direct incoming traffic in a safe and efficient way. Evening duties will include storing traffic equipment and unloading live ballots. Staff will be responsible for conducting the 1% manual tally. Must be safety oriented. Verification and Duplicating Ballots:

Duties include vote-by-mail verification and duplicating ballots. Candidates must be detail-oriented. Minimum Qualifications

Experience: None Knowledge: Perform routine clerical work; learn office practices, procedures and equipment; make simple arithmetic calculations; understand and follow written and oral instructions; establish and maintain cooperative relations with the public. Ability to: Perform general clerical work; Understand and follow both written and oral instructions as well as established policies and procedures; Perform non-sedentary duties; Regularly lift over 25 pounds; Work in a fast-paced environment License/Certificate: Possession of a valid California Driver's License may be required. Supplemental Information

The schedule for this position is full-time: 8:00am - 5:00pm Monday - Friday, including weekends, and holidays with mandatory overtime. During the training period, you may be working less than full-time hours. This recruitment is open to all applicants.
