The Advancement Team is recruiting for a student employee(s) to gain experience in marketing, communication, and event coordination while serving as a welcoming and informative presence on campus. You'll play a key role in supporting Western Nevada College's outreach efforts by helping share information about college programs and services, assisting with events, and providing support at the information desk. This position is ideal for students looking to build practical skills, connect with the campus community, and contribute to a positive experience for fellow students and visitors. Duties & Responsibilities: Support the distribution of marketing and recruitment materials Serve as a knowledgeable resource at the information desk Assist students and visitors with accessing online tools and resources Provide event support for on-campus events hosted by the Advancement team Contribute to a positive and professional public image of the college Work Study Required:
In addition to meeting the minimum qualifications listed, this position requires applicants to have been awarded Work Study funds. Work study funds are based on your eligibility determined by the FAFSA and are awarded as part of your Financial Aid package. Qualifications: Experience in working with the public/customer service Experience with Microsoft Office Student Employment Eligibility:
Fall & Spring Semester Eligibility: Enrollment in at least 6 credits each regular semester; and Be in a degree seeking program; and Meet all Satisfactory Academic Progress Requirements: 67% completion rate in the last enrolled semester 67% cumulative completion rate 2.0 cumulative grade point average on a 4.0 scale Have not exceeded the maximum number of credits allowed (90) or received two degrees OR be on an approved appeal and on probation with an Academic Plan; and Be authorized to work in the United States Summer Eligibility - Students are eligible to work during the summer if they meet the following criteria: Enrolled in at least 6 summer credits; or Successfully have completed the spring semester and enrolled in the required 6 credits for the fall semester (summer enrollment in this case is not required); and Meet all Satisfactory Academic Progress Requirements listed previously; and Be authorized to work in the United States Changes in Student Eligibility:
Continued employment is contingent on maintaining eligibility. If a student's eligibility changes their role may be subject to termination and/or they may be temporarily required to remain off work. If students' eligibility is on hold pending the results of an appeal, students are required to remain off work until the appeal has been satisfactorily resolved. Compensation:
Student Employee - Level 1 $12-$15 an hour Schedule:
Scheduled and available hours may vary and are subject to change based on organizational needs. Full-Time Equivalency:
50% - 20 Hours Per Week Students may not work during scheduled course times Students may not work more than 20 hours per week (Sun-Sat) during academic periods in which they are enrolled (Summer, Fall, Winter, and Spring semesters) Students may not work more than 28 hours per week (Sun-Sat) during break periods, in which they are not taking courses (summer break, winter break, and spring break) Questions:
