Saint Luke's Health System Nursing Assistant Training Program is now accepting applications from Guadalupe students for its Non-Certified Nursing Assistant positions. This is a great opportunity for students to enter into the healthcare field and provide care to patients in the hospital setting. As part of your orientation you will go through a six-week program
which offers paid training, as well as an hourly wage. This provides a chance at a new career for individuals seeking an entry-level position in health care as a nursing assistant, and an opportunity to make a difference. The six-week program is part of a blended approach to learning, which contains didactic training, eLearnings, simulation and clinical experience. Weeks one through three will be in-person classroom-based training. Weeks four through six will consist of clinical time and department orientation spent inside a Saint Luke's hospital on designated units with a clinical instructor and a success coach. After training, nursing assistants will work either Day Shift Hours 6:45 AM - 7:45 PM or Night Shift Hours 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM. Responsibilities:
Providing patient care under the direction and supervision of an RN or LPN. Performing direct and indirect patient care tasks. Providing assistance with activities of daily living and care such as bathing, hygiene, elimination and toileting, nutrition, feeding, hydration, ambulation and positioning. Anticipating the patient's family needs in a proactive fashion. Individualizing and modifying care according to the patient's needs. Collaborating with other health care team members to enhance the provision of patient care. Supporting patient safety and satisfaction by performing regular patient rounds on the nursing unit and effectively communicating with all team members while providing excellent customer service.
