CFV Fayetteville Orthopedics & Sports Medicine is offering a full-time position in Fayetteville, North Carolina. The role is part of the Cape Fear Valley Fayetteville Orthopedics & Sports Medicine department under the Nursing Support job family. The work shift is during the day. This position offers a $7,500 sign-on bonus and is responsible for supporting administrative and clinical requirements of physicians and other licensed medical staff. The role involves assisting in obtaining patient vital signs, updating patients' charts, compiling statistical data, and adhering to policy/procedure/practice, regulatory requirements, and JCAHO standards. The incumbent will also administer care to clinic patients under the supervision of the physician and other licensed medical staff. Major Job Functions include: Maintaining patients' rights, confidentiality, dignity, and well-being Maintaining an accurate, relevant record of patient care and patient contact per visit and per telephone Collecting and processing all point of care, lab, and pathology samples per CFVH policy Performing quality and safety checks on all waived testing equipment and supplies per CFVHS policies Performing patient education under the direction of the Provider Administering and recording treatments, dressing changes, medications, and therapies under the direction and order of the LIP Chaperoning, setting up for, and assisting providers in procedures and examinations as needed Properly handling and preparing reusable instruments for return to Central Sterile Processing for sterilization Disposing of biohazard and pharmaceutical waste per OSHA guidelines and per CFVH Policy Maintaining a clean patient care environment by following Infection Prevention Standards for between patient cleaning and terminal cleaning Ensuring appropriate supply stock and instrument supplies in designated areas Other duties as assigned Physician Office Practice Additional Job Functions include: Performing front desk reception to include greeting patients and scheduling appointments Assisting clerk/receptionist with ICD and CPT coding, input to computer for billing, insurance, and QA purposes Coordinating and communicating with outside healthcare partners such as home health, hospice, DME companies, community paramedics, and ACO to carry out the provider directed patient plan of care Monitoring Epic In Basket and responding to all messages in an appropriate time frame Performing components of well visits or physicals as directed by the provider Performing scheduled nursing visits as directed by the provider Completing all required documentation for each patient visit prior to provider beginning visit Performing High Level Disinfection according to CFVH policy and manufacturer's instructions Floating to other clinics as assigned Other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications include: Education, Training, and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required Basic Life Support (BLS) required from the American Heart Association Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant Program with successful completion of a nationally recognized certification exam required. Acceptable organizations are: CMA - American Association of Medical Assistants RMA - American Medical Technologists CMA(MEDCA) - Medical Career Assessments RMA(ARMA) - American Registry of Medical Assistants CMA - National Association for Health Professionals CCMA - National Healthcare Association NRCMA - National Association for Health Professionals Work Experience:
1 year clinical experience in an outpatient clinical setting preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
Recognizes life-threatening situations, responds, and activates emergency services Effectively communicates with all customers, staff, and providers in-person and via phone, including greeting, identifying self by name and role, and returning calls in a timely manner Physical Requirements:
