Job Title
Support students, staff, faculty, community members, and guests by providing exceptional customer service over the phone and in-person. Assist current and prospective students, sponsoring agencies, and other educational partners by providing accurate information on college programs and services. This position reports to Campus & Site Services Manager and works under general supervision to ensure support for students, staff, and faculty at Westpointe. The specialist assists students with all aspects of support ranging from admissions through graduation and transfer and connects students, staff, and faculty with additional resources, as needed. The specialist interfaces professionally with faculty and academic departments and with other college personnel in divisions including Student Affairs, Facilities, the Key Office, Auxiliary Services, Tutoring & Learning, Public Safety, and Information Technology who support the specialist's assigned campus. Excellent customer service skills, cultural competencies, and sensibilities. Ability to work collaboratively with other office staff at a variety of campuses and departments. Organizational and processing skills with a high level of accuracy. Reliability, punctuality, and ability to work independently. Basic computer literacy, including word processing, data management, and internal navigation. Knowledge of general office procedures and etiquette. Ability to use basic office equipment and computer database systems and programs. Ability to safeguard protected information. Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of diverse people, ability, culture, ethnic background, to maintain good working relationships across the College and community. Ability to work with all groups in a diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic background of community college students, faculty and staff, including those with disabilities. Assist students and prospective students in the following areas but not limited to: Participate in daily operations of the center. Respond courteously and promptly to in-person and telephone inquiries, serving diverse populations in a warm inclusive manner. Provide accurate, consistent information. Assist students with admissions applications, registration, records, transcripts, SLCC systems, and financial aid, provide information on the Center for Access and Disability services, printing, and other questions as needs arise. Assist in the processing of lost & found items, working in collaboration with Surplus Services. Participate in campus emergency training and assist in the event of campus emergencies. Be aware of institutional policies and procedures. Other duties as assigned. Ability to operate a computer and general office equipment. Basic computer literacy. This position will require critical thinking, teamwork, self-starting ability, timeliness, and dependability. Minimum Qualifications
High School graduate or GED equivalent. Preferred Qualifications
