Swim Instructor Opportunity
SafeSplash Swim School in Arlington and Grand Prairie, TX is hiring SWIM INSTRUCTORS! We are looking for exceptional individuals to join our close, tight-knit team. You must be a competent swimmer/know how to swim, PASSIONATE about working with the public, especially CHILDREN in the arena of SWIMMING. We promote our employees 100% within the team. We are looking for an individual who is willing to learn, grow with the company and not stay stagnant. Starting hourly pay rate: $14.00 to $18.00 based on experience and demonstrated abilities. Hours range: 20 to 35+ hours a week. We are hiring for the following locations (10/20 minutes apart from one another): Mondays & Wednesdays: 24HR Fitness: 1131 W. Arbrook Blvd. - Arlington, TX 76015 Working hours at 24HR: Mondays: 3:45PM-8:15PM Wednesdays: 3:45PM-8:15PM Mondays/Wednesdays & Saturdays: Kirby Creek Natatorium: 3201 Corn Valley Rd. - Grand Prairie, TX 75052 Working hours at Kirby Creek Natatorium: Mondays: 4:00PM to 7:00PM Wednesdays: 4:00PM to 7:00PM Saturdays: 9:30AM to 1:00PM Tuesdays & Thursdays: The Epic: 2960 Epic Place - Grand Prairie, TX 75052 Working hours at The Epic: Tues & Thurs AM classes: 9:30AM to 1:10PM Tues & Thurs PM classes: 4:00PM to 8:45PM Fridays & Saturdays: LA Fitness: 5331 W Sublett Rd - Arlington, TX 76017 Working hours at LA Fitness: Fridays: 3:30PM to 7:00PM Saturdays: 9:30AM to 2:20PM As a Swim Instructor you are a role model to our swimmers. You must also have a genuine love for teaching, especially working with infants, children, as well as teenagers and adults. Special consideration will be given to instructors who are bilingual (Spanish/English) and also have experience teaching children from the ages of 6 months, as well as Special Needs. Description: SafeSplash Swim Instructors are responsible for upholding and teaching in accordance with the SafeSplash Swim School teaching certification and curriculum. Essential duties and responsibilities as a SWIM INSTRUCTOR (include but not limited to): The main focus of a swim instructor is to teach swimming skills in accordance with SafeSplash curriculum in a fun and positive manner Provide continuous, positive corrective feedback to students and customers on their swimming efforts Structure class time appropriately to incorporate repetition, reinforcement, and introduction of required skills Ensure swimmer safety Maintain proper equipment and time organization to ensure timely class start times Provide Deck Supervisor with class information (ribbons, student changes, etc.) to keep proper class organization Provide customers with monthly, individualized feedback on swimmers during Splash 'N Tell week Maintain proper SafeSplash uniform standards outlined in employee handbook Position Qualifications and Requirements
Previous swim instruction experience is preferred A minimum of 1 year working with children (teaching) Fluent in English; bilingual Spanish speaking a BIG plus Individual must be trainable, creative, and willing to follow directions Swim background; must be able to demonstrate swim strokes Available to work flexible hours, including weekends Must be comfortable interacting with children, teens, and adults Special consideration will be given to instructors with experience teaching swimmers aged 6 months to 10 years and Special Needs Must be able to lift, push and pull up to 50 pounds in weight Job Condition
Working indoors Constant movement in water Standing and walking for an extended period of time in water Working in close proximity to others Constantly speaking to a variety of all ages, especially children Setting up/breaking down pool equipment before and after lessons (E.g.: Benches) Some light deck cleaning duties We Will Provide
