Student Worker Position
The Mental Health Advocacy Service has a student worker vacancy. This is a part-time unclassified position. Our mission is to ensure that our clients' voices are heard and that they receive every right and remedy afforded them under law. Our goal is to provide high-quality legal counsel and representation to our clients, address systemic issues that affect the rights of more than one client and require a remedy, act as a clearinghouse for information relative to adults and children with mental health diagnoses and children in need of care, and provide training to various individuals/agencies. The duties performed by this position include, but are not limited to the following: Filing Data entry Sorting documents into files Scanning and uploading documents electronically to the MHAS database Assisting Attorneys and Social Workers in preparing documents for meetings and court hearings This position is needed to provide administrative support due to the increase in work load in our Monroe Office. The student worker must be able to work a minimum of 10-15 hours per week. Louisiana is a "State as a Model Employer" for People with Disabilities. An applicant must be enrolled in an accredited college or university in the State, in a sufficient number of courses and classes in such institution to be classified as a full-time regular student under the criteria used by the institution in which they are enrolled. Pay will be hourly and based upon the student's major and classification within their program. Flexible work schedule between hours of 7:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday.
