Vessel Technologies is seeking a Mechanical Designer to join our Design and Engineering Department in New York City. This role supports both new product development and current projects by creating, modifying, and maintaining 3D solid models, engineering drawings, and associated documentation. The Mechanical Designer will play an integral part in creating and managing all digital engineering assets, change orders, and release processes while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative and high-quality products solutions within the Vessel catalog.

The ideal candidate is meticulous, detail-oriented, resourceful, and experienced using the latest tools in CAD and PDM systems with the ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment. This individual should have a proven ability to transform design concepts into precise technical assemblies, drawings, ensuring manufacturability, functionality, and cost-effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities

Develop, create, and maintain 2D/3D CAD models, assemblies, and detail drawings using SolidWorks or PTC Creo 3D CAD software. Collaborate with Design, Engineering, Production, and Management to translate sketches, specifications, and verbal instructions into accurate CAD models and technical drawings. Contribute to product development projects by providing design solutions that meet various code and design constraints while meeting functional requirements and optimizing for cost and sheet metal manufacturability. Manage product lifecycle documentation, including Bills of Materials (BOMs), revision histories, ECOs, and technical databases and release packages. Support the Engineering Change and Release process by creating, checking, and auditing design documentation. Revise and update designs and drawings in response to engineering changes, customer feedback, or production needs. Conduct design reviews, source input on manufacturability, and ensure technical accuracy in collaboration with production teams. Research components, technical resources, and industry standards to support design decisions. Apply internal best practices and comply with applicable industry standards. Contribute to the continuous improvement of departmental processes and procedures. Perform additional related assignments as required. Qualifications

Associate's degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology (preferred) or equivalent relevant experience. 5+ years of experience creating large 3D CAD assemblies. Experience creating and managing 2D engineering drawings and technical documents. Expert in 3D solid modeling, with strong experience using PTC Creo or SolidWorks 3D CAD systems is required. Sheetmetal, PDM and PLM experience a plus! Demonstrated ability to develop and document detailed CAD models and drawings with minimal supervision. Strong organizational, time management, and project coordination skills. Detail-oriented, precise, and able to work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). Strong interpersonal skills and a proactive, solutions-focused mindset. Benefits
