A City Clerk Services Technician is an essential member of our team, we invite you to apply and help contribute to CNLV'S growing success! Please thoroughly review the information and selection process outlined below this announcement. Under general direction, provides general administrative support to the City Clerk and other staff within the department, including scheduling, filing, correspondence, and performing tasks related to passport services, archives and records retention, and public records requests. Ensures compliance with legal requirements for records management and provides excellent customer service to the public. Assist in maintaining accurate records, processing documentation, and in the coordination of city-wide records management programs. Minimum Qualifications: Associate's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Public or Business Administration, Information Management or closely related field. Two (2) years of experience in records management, clerical work, or administrative support. Experience in a municipal or government setting is highly preferred. Experience with passport processing is desired. Equivalency: Any combination of education, experience or training relating to records management, administrative support, or document processing. The city assesses one (1) year of related work experience to be equivalent to one (1) year of education. Licenses and Certifications: Must possess or have the ability to obtain a valid Nevada state driver's license, and maintain a satisfactory motor vehicle record. Must obtain and maintain Passport Agent Certification - All mandatory provided training and submission of application to U.S. Dept. of State for Passport Agent Certification must be completed within thirty (30) days of date of hire. Certification in Records Management (CRM) or similar credential is preferred. The selection process will begin with a screening of the application/resume. The best qualified candidates will be invited to participate in the assessment process. An oral board interview will follow (weighted 100%, passing score 70%). Selected candidates for this position are subject to a pre-employment screening which includes but is not limited to local & state criminal history check; federal criminal history checks via submission of fingerprints; and drug screening.
