Job Description & Requirements Specialty: CT Technologist Discipline: Allied Health Professional Start Date: 10/06/2025 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Job ID: T4H - 914 Job Summary Following established protocol and under the medical supervision of certified radiologists, CT Technologists produce computerized tomography radiographs of designated anatomical areas as ordered by physicians to aid in diagnosis of disease or injury. Technologists assist radiologists with procedures as needed, supervise student Radiologic Technologists, and maintain positive customer relations. Responsibilities Ensure care and safety of patients during imaging procedures utilizing age-appropriate care. Obtain correct written orders and perform procedures under Radiologist direction. Assist in student technologist education (40%). Use imaging equipment efficiently, minimizing repeat exams and emphasizing cost containment (20%). Instruct and prepare patients for imaging procedures, obtain consent when needed, and communicate effectively with patients and families (10%). Enter correct orders, diagnoses, and clinical histories into the system. Communicate effectively with Radiologists and demonstrate professional demeanor (10%). Adhere to hospital, departmental, and safety policies, including radiation protection and ALARA principles. Maintain licensure and mandatory training. Handle medical information confidentially and support organizational goals (10%). Assist other Imaging Team members and clerical staff. Demonstrate teamwork, flexibility, initiative, and accountability. Contribute to departmental improvements (10%). Perform other duties as required. Requirements Education: High school diploma or GED required. Graduate of an accredited Allied Health program preferred. Completion of accredited CT program preferred. Experience: One year as a Radiologic Technologist preferred. Licensure/Certification: Registered in Radiologic Technology by ARRT, or permanent Radiography certification from SCRQSA. ARRT in CT preferred. Current BLS for Healthcare Providers (AHA). Work Demands / Environment Frequent standing, walking, and lifting/moving patients. Lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling up to 50 lbs. Frequent use of hand dexterity, reaching, talking, and hearing. Exposure to blood, body fluids, infectious materials, communicable diseases, radiation, and chemicals. Work may involve stress, deadlines, irregular hours, call shifts, weekends, and holidays. Knowledge / Skills Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to perform and teach CT exams for diagnostic images. Knowledge of OSHA, DHEC, FDA, and TJC standards. Ability to operate standard office equipment. Schedule Monday–Wednesday, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM. 2–3 call shifts every 6 weeks. Float to other facilities as needed.
