The Virginia Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) protects the public by preparing court-involved youth to be successful citizens. DJJ is committed to excellence in public safety by providing effective interventions that improve the lives of youth, strengthening both families and communities within the Commonwealth. The Virginia Public Safety Training Center is seeking a Fiscal Technician. This position provides assistance to the Business Operations Manager by promptly and accurately responding to emails in reference to travel documentation and reimbursements. Responsibilities include, but not limited to: Meets with travel classes at the end of each training sessions to answer questions along with retrieving required forms; Serves as back up for entering purchase orders in the eVA system; Serves as back up for data input of all expenditures and travel reimbursements in Cardinal; Retrieves, sorts, and date stamps all business office mail; Provides excellent customer service to all internal and external stakeholders; Assists with other assigned projects. Please note this is a wage position. This position will work 29 hours or less per week, with no benefits. Minimum Qualifications Considerable knowledge of Microsoft software to include Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Experience serving in an administrative or staff support role with emphasis on customer service. Knowledge of GSA travel policy. Knowledge of basic accounting and business principles sufficient to monitor and analyze date. Experience performing data entry into automated financial systems. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing, work independently or as a team member. Additional Considerations Considerable training and/or experience in business and accounting.
