Construction Estimator Job at Talent Solutions Group Inc in Chicago

An established General Contractor specializing in multifamily and mixed use ground-up construction is READY TO HIRE and Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in estimating costs for manufacturing facilities, schools, retail, industrial locations, and mixed-use developments. This Estimator must be willing to travel to project sites As a Construction Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and comprehensive cost estimates, evaluating bids, and collaborating with project managers, architects, and subcontractors.

Estimator Responsibilities:
• Analyze project plans, blueprints, and specifications to prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects.
• Gather and assess quotes from subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors to determine pricing for labor, materials, and equipment.
• Provide value engineering and cost-saving recommendations to improve project efficiency without compromising quality.
• Assist in reviewing subcontractor proposals, ensuring compliance with project requirements and company standards.
• Monitor market trends and industry changes to adjust estimates for fluctuations in material and labor costs.
• Collaborate with the senior leadership team to negotiate and finalize project budgets.
• Find and Develop new relationships with clients.
• Prepare and submit bids for review.

Estimator Qualifications:
• Proven experience as a construction estimator in the commercial construction industry.
• Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and market conditions.
• Proficiency in estimation software (e.g., Procore, Buildertrend, or similar).
• Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Knowledge of local building codes, safety regulations, and industry best practices.
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (preferred, but not required).
• Minimum 3 years experience.
• Must be able to demonstrate proven win rate of projects from 15 - 45 million.
