Mt. Bachelor Tune Shop Staff

Repair Technicians must possess modern knowledge of ski/board tuning techniques and understand how ski and snowboard technology has evolved. Experience operating manual tuning equipment, servicing snowboard bindings, and knowledge of Mt. Bachelor terrain are strongly preferred. Knowledge of using files and file guides to hand-pull the base edge is also essential. A tune shop staff member is required to have a general knowledge of safety procedures and the use of personal protective equipment when working around large machines, power tools, chemicals, and hand tools. This is an inside job that requires extended periods of standing, bending, pushing, and reaching. All members of this team possess exemplary guest service skills, can provide instruction on proper equipment use, and present accurate maintenance and repair recommendations. Strong communication skills, an eye for detail, and the ability to work as a team are critical! Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities Provide technical expertise to guests and employees. Conduct rental ski and snowboard repair and maintenance daily. Obtain certifications from all binding manufacturers and mount and adjust guest ski bindings daily. Intake of guest equipment: evaluating, recommending, documenting, and preparing equipment for services. Facilitate an informative equipment return process by clearly explaining the services performed and the equipment's function. Follow proper release of liability procedures. Perform regular fleet inspection and necessary fleet maintenance services, such as rental ASTM testing. Basic ski/board service and maintenance may include: superficial and integrity base repairs, flattening bases, structuring bases, edge tuning, waxing, binding repair, and binding testing. Operate a cash register with great accuracy Doing cash deposit drops as needed. Follow opening and closing procedures accurately Perform daily/weekly machine cleaning, maintenance, and record keeping Add value to the department by being a great teammate and helping with rentals as needed. Be able to stand for up to 10 hours a shift. Secondary Function Provide technical assistance to the Rental Shop when needed, snow removal projects, moving outdoor ski racks, and all other duties assigned. Job Scope The Mt. Bachelor Tune Team works together in a very fast-paced atmosphere. Our staff is required to be knowledgeable and professional. Our staff must be passionate about the sport and willing to use their knowledge to assist our guests. Our team must share a passion for perfecting our service and techniques so we can continue to provide the best tuning and repair experience possible. High School or Equivalent Required. Minimum time in related position:
1 year or 2 seasons as a tuning/repair shop employee with exposure to guest service.
