Summary: The Aquatics Manager is responsible for the overall operation, safety, and guest experience of the waterpark's attractions and team. This role manages the lifeguard program, attraction operations, training, maintenance of water quality and safety standards, and ensures compliance with all applicable regulatory and certification standards. The Aquatics Manager supports overall park success by delivering a high level of guest satisfaction, team performance, and operational excellence. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Lead, develop, and manage all aquatic operations and lifeguard staff to ensure a safe, efficient, and engaging waterpark experience. Oversee daily aquatic attraction operations, including staffing, opening/closing procedures, water chemistry, and safety inspections. Ensure all lifeguard and aquatics personnel are trained and certified according to the StarGuard Elite program, including in-service training, audits, and emergency drills. Maintain full compliance with local, state, and federal regulations for aquatic recreational facilities. Manage and document all lifeguard training, safety drills, certifications, and ongoing development programs. Monitor and maintain all life safety and waterpark equipment, including PPE, rescue gear, filtration systems, and water quality tools. Respond to and investigate guest or team member incidents, injuries, or emergencies, ensuring appropriate care, reporting, and documentation. Partner with the General Manager to assist with budget planning, expense control, and labor forecasting specific to aquatic operations. Monitor guest service standards, team performance, and park cleanliness across all aquatic areas. Participate in recruitment, onboarding, and performance development of aquatics team members. Uphold and promote a positive, team culture while ensuring adherence to company policies and a harassment-free environment. Provide leadership presence in the park during operating hours and special events. Identify and recommend improvements to park operations, training, safety protocols, and guest satisfaction. Qualifications and Experience Required: Minimum 5 years in a supervisory or leadership role, preferably within aquatics, recreation, or hospitality. At least 3 years of experience in waterpark or aquatic facility management. Strong working knowledge of pool operations, water chemistry, and aquatic safety. Experience with labor management and P&L responsibilities. Ability to lead under pressure and make sound decisions in dynamic environments. Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills. Computer proficiency, including MS Office Suite. Proficiency in English. Preferred or Required Upon Hire: Certified Pool Operator (CPO) or equivalent. Pool Manager Certification (required in some jurisdictions). Lifeguard Instructor or Lifeguard Trainer certification (StarGuard Elite preferred). CPR/AED/First Aid Certification. TIPS and ServSafe Certifications (preferred for broader park operations support). Emergency Action Planning and response protocols. Work Environment & Availability Must be available to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and handle physically demanding tasks. May be required to be on-call for emergency situations or critical operational needs.
