This position is responsible for the operation of the main entrance of Winter Park Resort. It requires an independent, motivated individual who's main task is to assist guests continuously throughout the day and answer any inquiries and direct guests in the appropriate direction. This position is a fast paced, face forward position and requires a friendly, informative individual. Excellent communication skills are necessary for this environment. This position may or may not coincide with the Pay Parking Enforcer position. Hourly pay range: $20-$21.50 per hour Essential duties and responsibilities: Perform opening and closing procedures. Assist vehicles with lodging check-in, reserved, visitor, pay, short term, disabled and clinic parking. Control access of deliveries, shuttles, emergency vehicles and construction vehicles. Operate/repair gates at traffic hut Online monitoring of pay kiosks Enter & keep accurate license plates records for all season pass holders, vendors, and any other authorized personal an update as needed Establish and maintain a good working relationship with our license plate recognition company, Vanguard Parking Be in constant communication with pay parking enforcer via hand held radio for any issues with lots/gates Operation of computer accounting software and credit card machine Distribute parking tickets as needed. Receive payments for parking related fees Create & distribute guest parking permits Assist guests and employees with directions and information in a friendly, professional manner. Effectively handle first-line conflicts and resolve problems. Responsible for cleanliness, snow removal and maintenance in and around hut and gates, including signage. Public and employee safety: a. Be alert for potential hazards involving vehicles, pedestrians, and equipment. b. Take responsible action to prevent accidents. c. Report and/or correct any unsafe conditions. Assist with vehicle, public, and employee accidents as required. Follow accident reporting procedures. Assist with parking lot operations as needed. Be available for special events as needed Assist Pay Parking Supervisor/ enforcer in troubleshooting and equipment repair External relations or partners: Constant communication and contact with outside vendors not limited to law enforcement, Town of Winter Park maintenance workers, service vendors and internal resort departments Personal attributes: Must be reliable, motivated individual who is able to work independently and has the confidence to make sound, firm decisions to deny or allow access to privileged resort areas Must be able to remain calm in stressful environments Physical demands: Standing for long periods of time Keeping a positive attitude answering repetitive questions Education/experience/licensing: Competence in the operation of point-of-sale software and other software applications, computers, calculators, copiers, scanners, handheld radios Mechanical skills in troubleshooting and repairing pay station and gate equipment Ability to communicate effectively; verbally and written. Must speak English fluently. Ability to maintain records, prepare accurate reports, and do basic math Ability to take initiative, use sound judgement, and act with discretion under varying conditions. Must be able to handle complaints and difficult customers in a polite and professional manner Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with the public, employees, homeowners, property management personnel, commercial tenants, NSCD participants, parking season pass holders, resort staff, service vendors, local law enforcement and TOWP maintenance. Ability to work a flexible work week and be available for overtime as needed. Must be able to pass a background check, no criminal record. Familiarity with Winter Park Resort and surrounding services; town and valley desirable.
