Position

YOUR NEXT OPPORTUNITY:

The Project Manager I is a mid-level project management position responsible for overseeing projects from planning through completion and ensuring client satisfaction by delivering excellent service. Provides overall project management support for several small-to-medium projects or one large project, under the guidance of senior project management.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and organize a project under the direction of a Senior Project Manager and/or Division Manager.
  • Supervise and direct project activities, including assigning tasks to Assistant Project Managers, planning, coordinating, resolving issues, and maintaining company/project policies and procedures.
  • Provide project management expertise to establish initial client contact, including assessment of scope of work, schedule, and required resources.
  • Prepare a complete estimate for the selected project with a detailed review of plans, specifications, and bid forms.
  • Establish project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards within corporate guidelines.
  • Supervise the preparation of all change orders and negotiate them on the project.
  • Monitor construction activities with the onsite Foreman and Area Superintendent to ensure the project is on schedule and within budget.
  • Investigate potentially serious situations and implement corrective measures within company guidelines and supervision.
  • Supervise the preparation of all change quotations for presentation to the prime client and assist in negotiating outcomes.
  • Prepare monthly costing reports under the supervision of a Senior PM or Division Manager.
  • Manage financial aspects of contracts (progress billing, rental equipment, income/expenses) to protect the company's interests while maintaining good client relationships.
  • Review documentation prepared by the Assistant Project Manager before submission.
  • Represent the company in project meetings under the guidance of PM II or Sr. Project Manager.
  • This description covers the general nature and scope of work; other responsibilities may be assigned based on the position within the business unit.

Qualifications

  • Ability to perform duties in a professional manner and appearance

  • Effective performance management skills

  • Extensive knowledge of safety protocols and procedures

  • Proficient in computer use and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.); Accubid and Oracle preferred

  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks with changing priorities

  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing requirements

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Self-motivated, proactive, and a collaborative team player

  • Ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees, vendors, clients, and others

What you bring to us

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related discipline preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in construction in a Project Management role
  • Combination of training, education, and relevant work experience

Travel

  • Up to 25%

Working conditions

  • Typically on active construction sites; environment includes varying lighting, indoors with environmental variations
  • Noise level is low to medium
  • Occasional lifting up to 30 lbs

Pay Range

$94,500.00-$141,800.00 Annual
