Construction Project Manager
We have an exciting opportunity for a skilled Construction Project Manager to lead complex educational and commercial construction projects from inception through completion.
This full-service firm is involved in design and construction management for a wide range of public sector and institutional buildings. The Project Manager will oversee 68 construction projects at a time, ensuring they are completed on schedule, within budget, and according to plans and contract documents. The ideal candidate will have prior experience across multiple project delivery methodsparticularly design-bid-build, design-build, and CM@Riskand will be comfortable working as either an Owner's Rep or General Contractor.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate all phases of design and construction
- Conduct periodic progress meetings with stakeholders and using agencies
- Troubleshoot challenges proactively and adjust plans as needed
- Serve as the primary point of contact throughout the project lifecycle
- Review and respond to RFIs, shop drawings, and construction correspondence
- Manage project change orders and track project scope modifications
- Conduct pre-bid conferences and facilitate regular project meetings
- Ensure project files are maintained in accordance with firm guidelines
- Coordinate with contractors, designers, clients, and internal teams
- Develop and manage project budgets
- Review and approve pay applications, vendor invoices, and schedules
- Monitor financial risks and manage project fund disbursements
- Close out projects in compliance with internal and external requirements
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or related field
- 2+ years of experience managing commercial construction projects
- Familiarity with design-bid-build, design-build, and CM@Risk delivery methods
- Experience as an Owner's Representative or with a General Contractor
- Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking abilities
- Valid driver's license
Preferred Background:
- Degree in Construction Management, Mechanical, Architectural, or Electrical Engineering
- Experience with mechanically intensive buildings is a plus
- Exposure to higher education, civic, or institutional construction preferred
- Familiarity with project management platforms like Ebuilder is a bonus, but not required
- Candidates with residential or healthcare/lab experience only are not a fit for this role
