At Vermont Catholic Charities, were committed to making a meaningful impact in our community through compassionate programs including residential care homes, counseling services, and emergency financial assistance. We're seeking a detail-oriented and mission-driven Accountant to join our dedicated team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform day-to-day accounts payable & accounts receivable functions
  • Reconcile bank accounts monthly
  • Assist with monthly Medicaid billing
  • Perform monthly account reconciliations on several general ledger accounts including fixed assets, investments, prepaid expenses, accrued liabilities, security deposits, counseling revenue, petty cash & resident funds accounts.
  • Assist Accounting Manager with preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • Support accounting needs of residential care homes, emergency aid programs and counseling services
  • Assist with annual audit preparation, annual budget, financial analysis and reporting, annual filings and special projects

Qualifications

  • Associates degree in Accounting
  • 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a nonprofit setting
  • Familiarity with financial software (e.g., QuickBooks, Acumatica)
  • Proficiency in Office 365, especially Excel
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Financial analysis and Medicaid Billing experience a plus

Schedule: Full-time, 35 hours per week, Monday through Friday.
