Project Accountant
As a Project Accountant, you will be responsible for overseeing client invoicing, managing collections, and budgeting for various projects. You will also provide backup assistance on coding and processing accounts payable, timesheets, and expense reports. Additionally, you will conduct accurate contract documentation, administration, and maintenance, which includes fee and budget entry.
Responsibilities:
- Work with section and project personnel to provide timely contract performance data and resolve financial issues.
- Coordinate the project accounting system within the department and work with technical staff to ensure compliance with contractual requirements.
- Assist multiple project managers and staff on a daily basis.
- Perform other duties as needed.
Essential Skills:
- 3+ years of experience in project-related accounting.
- Experience in engineering, architecture, or construction industry.
- Proficiency in project invoicing and budgeting.
- Experience with Excel, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP.
- Familiarity with Oracle or any ERP system.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including grammar, punctuation, proofreading, spelling, and telephone skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting preferred.
- Associate degree in a closely related field or a combination of education and relevant experience required.
- Familiarity with Earned Value Management.
- Ability to handle confidential information.
- Self-motivated, well-organized, and detail-oriented.
- Flexibility and ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with MS Office, including Word and Outlook.
Work Environment:
- The work schedule is Monday to Friday, with core hours from 9 AM to 3 PM, but flexible to complete 8 hours a day. After a training period, work is expected to be in the office 3-4 days a week, depending on experience. The position is based in areas outside of Pittsburgh, including Cincinnati, Columbus, Cleveland, and Philadelphia. Pay and Benefits:
The pay range for this position is $23.90 - $39.25/hr.
