How you'll contribute


The Staff Accountant applies principles of accounting to analyze financial information. The primary responsibility of this position is to prepare financial reports by compiling information, preparing profit and loss statements, and utilizing appropriate accounting control procedures.


Qualifications and requirements



  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting

  • Experience: Three to five years of accounting experience required; Prior experience in healthcare industry preferred

  • License: Valid driver's license preferred.

  • Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including generally accepted accounting principles.

  • Knowledge of financial and accounting software applications.

  • Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections. Willingness to work a flexible schedule. Occasional travel may be required.


Essential Functions



  • Assists with preparation of monthly financial statements and monthly closing.

  • Compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounts, and document business transactions.

  • Maintains Corporation bank accounts and treasury management.

  • Assists in establishing, documenting, maintaining, and coordinating the implementation accounting control and procedures.

  • Analyzes and reviews budgets and expenditures.

  • Monitors and reviews accounting and related system reports for accuracy and completeness.

  • Prepares and reviews expenses, payroll entries, invoices, and other accounting documents.

  • Analyzes expenditure trends and ensures expenditure control.

  • Assists Financial Coordinator with daily tasks as needed, and assists Facility staff with monthly close process.

  • Resolves accounting discrepancies.

  • Recommends, develops and maintains financial data bases, computer software systems, and manual filing systems.

  • Assists with the input and handling of financial data and reports for the company's automated financial systems.

  • Assists Controller with internal and external auditors in completing audits.

  • Assists with accounting system training of new facility staff as needed.
