Teacher/Intervention Specialist

Location: Westlake

The Achievement Centers for Children is a Cleveland, Ohio-based non-profit organization recognized nationally for its excellence in supporting children with disabilities and their families.

We are seeking a Teacher/Intervention Specialist to join our innovative K-12 school for children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. This full-day position (8:00 am 4:00 pm) will be hired through the ESC and will work at ACC as part of an interdisciplinary team.

Responsibilities Include

• Leading the classroom team and providing direct instruction to students
• Developing and implementing prescribed behavior plans
• Assisting with personal hygiene routines as needed
• Following students IEP goals when substituting in classrooms

Requirements and Qualifications

• Bachelors or Masters Degree in Special Education
• Current Ohio Intervention Specialist license, K-12 moderate-intensive (preferred)
• Two or more years of experience teaching students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
• Training and experience in two or more methodologies used in the Autism School Model (e.g., TEACCH, ABA/Discrete Trial, PECS, Social Skills groups, Functional Behavior Assessments) preferred
