Dental Assistant Position
Samuel U. Rodgers Health Center is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dental Assistant to support our dental providers in delivering high-quality care to patients of all ages. The Dental Assistant plays an essential role in patient comfort, preparation, and treatment, while also supporting office and lab operations. Key Responsibilities of the Dental Assistant:
- Prepare patients for dental exams and ensure their comfort during treatment
- Obtain and review dental/medical histories
- Prepare trays, instruments, and materials for procedures
- Assist dentists during treatment by providing instruments and maintaining a clear treatment area
- Sterilize, disinfect, and maintain equipment according to safety standards
- Take and process dental x-rays as directed by the dentist
- Provide postoperative instructions and general oral health education to patients
- Support lab work, impressions, temporary crowns, and appliance polishing as needed
- Perform administrative tasks such as scheduling, maintaining records, and ordering supplies when required

What We're Looking For:
- High school diploma or GED required; associate's degree or technical training preferred
- One to three years of related dental experience, or equivalent combination of education and training
- Current state-specific certifications (e.g., RDA, CDA, Expanded Functions, Coronal Polishing, Nitrous Oxide/Oxygen Analgesia, CPR) as applicable
