Cleaning Room Operator: Rockford, Illinois
Our client in Rockford, Illinois is a growing company that is committed to providing excellent service to their customers while producing quality work. As a Cleaning Room Operator, you will be responsible for operating a bandsaw, performing cutting and grinding tasks, and assisting with basic forklift duties. This is a great opportunity to learn about the foundry industry while working in a physically demanding yet rewarding environment. This position also includes maintaining a clean and safe furnace room, offering growth potential for those interested in advancing within the company.
Responsibilities of the Cleaning Room Operator:
- Operate a bandsaw daily to cut materials to specified dimensions.
- Perform grinding and cutting operations to prepare parts for production.
- Safely operate a forklift (minimal use), moving materials as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the furnace and cleaning rooms.
- Follow all safety protocols and ensure a safe work environment at all times.
- Assist in learning and supporting general foundry operations.
- Handle heavy materials and complete physically demanding tasks in a hot, sometimes dirty environment.
Cleaning Room Operator Requirements and Qualifications:
- Prior experience operating a bandsaw is preferred.
- Experience with cutting, grinding, and basic forklift operation is beneficial.
- Prior experience in a foundry or furnace operation is a plus.
- Ability to lift heavy objects, stand for extended periods, and work in hot environments.
- Willingness to learn and take on responsibilities in an industrial setting.
- Strong attention to safety, detail, and teamwork.
Pay for Cleaning Room Operator:
- Starting at $16.00/hour
