Lead Recruiter - Global Sales and Leadership Hiring | Executive and Strategic Hiring- North America Role:
Employment Corporate Counsel Location:
New York City, NY or Edison, NJ (Onsite, 5 days per week) We are seeking a senior employment law attorney with strong experience in litigating and advising on domestic employment law issues. This role will serve as a primary legal advisor within a small Employment Law team, reporting to senior leadership within the Legal function, and will provide dedicated support to the Human Resources department.
Responsibilities
Provide guidance to employment counsel and contribute to strategy development for the employment law team.
Offer proactive, strategic, and practical employment law advice to HR partners, including guidance on U.S. employment policies.
Support HR in managing employee relations issues, investigations, and grievances.
Review disciplinary actions and terminations in collaboration with HR.
Oversee employment law aspects of corporate transactions, including due diligence.
Recommend, implement, and enhance employment law training programs.
Monitor legal and regulatory changes across U.S. jurisdictions and advise on compliance.
Manage significant employment litigation matters in coordination with outside counsel.
Respond to EEOC, state, and local agency complaints, as well as wage/hour and DOL investigations.
Handle subpoenas and document requests.
Maintain employment law files and databases.
Collaborate with employment law colleagues across global regions.
Perform additional tasks as directed by senior legal leadership.
Qualifications
Minimum of 8 years of experience in employment law and litigation, with preference for candidates with in-house and IT industry experience.
J.D. from an accredited law school; must be in good standing to practice law in at least one U.S. state.
Strong analytical skills and sound judgment.
Ability to work independently, proactively, and reliably under tight deadlines.
Effective collaborator with cross-functional teams and HR partners.
Skilled at handling multiple complex projects simultaneously.
Flexibility to work on matters outside direct expertise.
Must be able to work onsite (not a remote role).
