You will influence life-changing research and outcomes, contribute to a culture of belonging, and help turn ideas into impact by leveraging Danaher’s system of continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
Serve as trusted counsel on all IP issues (invention mining, patentability, patent prosecution, and freedom to operate) locally and globally, providing practical IP advice.
Align IP strategies with business goals and strategic plans.
Lead outside counsel in preparing and prosecuting patent and trademark applications.
Negotiate, draft, and review agreements such as licenses, research agreements, collaboration agreements, confidentiality agreements, and material transfer agreements.
Conduct freedom-to-operate assessments on emerging technology.
Provide educational presentations and training on IP matters to SCIEX employees.
Occasional domestic and international travel may be required.
Essential Requirements
Juris Doctorate with excellent academic credentials from an accredited law school.
Active bar membership in at least one US jurisdiction.
Admitted to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
Experience in biology, chemistry, and physics with working knowledge of software; or experience in software with working knowledge of life sciences.
Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a law firm or as in-house counsel.
Preferred Experience
1–2 years of experience as in-house counsel is preferred.
