This position is full-time, 180 day "non-traditional" schedule. Schedule TBD to closely align with the public high school academic schedule.

SCOPE OF WORK:

Advises students and prospective students regarding college programs, enrollment, and registration and oversees the implementation of Dual Enrollment initiatives including Early College courses at high schools and NCC. This position reports to the Vice President of Academic and Student Affairs at Nashua Community College. ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Serves as liaison to designated high schools, working with guidance counselors, parents, students, administrators and faculty facilitate the development, implementation and continuation of CCSNH Dual Enrollment and Early College access programs. Facilitates student participation and transition into various high school initiatives, ensuring the orderly implementation of Dual Enrollment initiatives. Supervises and coordinates Dual Enrollment programs with responsibility for registration, tuition, fees, books, scholarships and adherence to policies. Serves as the point of contact for students enrolled in any dual enrollment program at the secondary level and works in conjunction with academic support staff to coordinate course registration, roster distribution, course assessment, and final grade paperwork. Recruits prospective students at schools and interviews students to assess their academic suitability for Dual Enrollment courses. Serves as the contact person for all high school and home school students seeking information and guidance on dual enrollment programs and advises students on course selection and connections to career pathways at NCC. Conducts informational and regular visits to high schools to promote Early College initiatives among students, faculty, and administrators including recruiting, counseling, guiding and advising students in the areas of course selection, career direction, program interests and academic suitability. Coordinates with Vice President of Academic and Student Affairs on the approval and certification process to ensure that participating secondary teachers meet the faculty standards of NCC and confirms faculty assignments for courses offered at the high school; oversees, coordinates and distributes course vouchers for eligible secondary teachers. Prepares contracts for stipends for participating NCC faculty partners of Early College offerings with follow-up to assure Early College procedures are being completed. Coordinates with appropriate college areas to collect and maintain data related to all Early College initiatives and outreach (e.g. programs offered and student performance data). Serves as liaison to the CCSNH Director of College Access and NHED Programs and Initiatives and attends system-wide meetings related to Early College programming. Serves as a liaison between NCC faculty and high school faculty for the approval process of Early College offerings, course context, college policies and procedures, and evaluation. Provides oversight in the administration of the Governor's scholarship for Dual Enrolled students. Supervises the Early College Program Assistant, ensuring the accurate and timely completion of all required documentation. Serves on college, regional and/or system committees as assigned or elected. Complies with all system, college, state and federal rules and regulations. Performs other related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

Bachelor's degree from a recognized college or university with major study in education, psychology, social work, human behavior/development or a related field. Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience. Experience:

Three (3) years' experience in academic and/or counseling/advising, teaching, or a related field.

License/Certification:

Valid New Hampshire driver's license or access to public transportation.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Proficient use in Banner, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word programs preferred ;

self-directed and organized work experience preferred.

Considerable knowledge of learning, behavior, and emotional patterns of young adults. Knowledge of personality, achievement, prognostic, and placement tests and the techniques involved in their use and interpretation. Knowledge of statistical analysis techniques. Ability to maintain rapport with students, faculty and staff. Ability to communicate effectively and to prepare written reports. Ability to work independently and as a member of a team. Ability to act with tact and diplomacy and to maintain confidentiality. Must be willing to maintain appearance appropriate to assigned duties and responsibilities as determined by the college.
