The Agency You'll Join
The New York City Mayor's Office is responsible for overseeing city services throughout the five boroughs, coordinating public agencies and departments, and managing public property. The Team You'll Work With
Under the direction of the Time and Leave Deputy Director, the selected candidate serves as a liaison to the Mayor's Office business units and city agencies. The selected candidate will be responsible for processing and maintaining employee time accrual and leaves. A successful candidate will understand and analyze citywide leave regulations and payroll policies. The Problems You'll Solve: -Monitor, review, and process (including OEEs when necessary) weekly timesheets for Mayor's Office employees. -Train and advise staff on timekeeping regulations and practices, and respond to inquiries. -Prepare time and leave breakdowns. -Assist in the dissemination of annual leave balance statements, requests for carryover of annual leave and compensatory time, and other documents. -Coordinate with Human Resources on extended leaves of absence. -Work with employees to strategically address time and leave issues. -Develop and manage the setting up of new hires/transfers and close out upon separation. -Ensure timely submission of timesheets, communicating with staff on submission requirements -Conduct audits and review daily reports for accuracy. -Identify, highlight, and report time usage issues/concerns such as leave patterns, excessive hours worked, excessive sick leave usage, unapproved leaves of absence, and review Leave Without Pay (LWOP). -Draft emails and employee memos as required. -Assist with the preparation of monthly reports and other ad hoc reports. -Manage timekeeping and payroll files, including inactive files and archived records. -Work on special projects and administrative tasks as requested.

-You have a strong work ethic and ability to complete tasks in a timely fashion with limited supervision. -You are detail-oriented. -You have the ability to work well in a fast-paced environment. -You must work well in a group. -You have the ability to maintain confidentiality. -You have excellent organizational skills. -You have excellent customer service skills. -You work well under daily deadlines and are able to deal with time-critical/time-sensitive activities. -You have excellent verbal and written communication skills. -You are proficient in computer and data entry skills with working knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS Outlook.
Minimum Required Qualifications
-A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a State's department of education or a recognized accrediting organization, and three (3) to five (5) years of satisfactory clerical or timekeeping experience.

Qualifications
1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in administration, research, management, analytical work, community work or community activities; or 2. A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and six years of experience as described in "1" above; or 3. A satisfactory equivalent combination of education and/or experience. However, all candidates must have at least one year of experience in administration, research, management, analytical work, community work or community activities.
