Job Summary:

The Central Warehouse Lead supervises and gives direction to assigned employees for various projects within the Central Warehouse. The incumbent participates in all aspects of the work performed in the Central Warehouse.

Essential Functions: Opens, distributes work, and supervises the daily operations of the Central Warehouse. Coordinates and supervises the daily operations utilizing personnel, equipment, and available resources. Supervises the Warehouse Workers as they complete order picking, packing, deliveries, pick-ups, and all assigned tasks. Coordinates with the Warehouse Manager and other Leads when reviewing requests for time off and scheduling of other employees within Surplus. Directs and trains Warehouse Workers on inventory management, locations stocking, order picking, packing, deliveries, computer software, area cleanliness, and safety. Ensures Central Warehouse operations are conducted within the scope of all federal, state, and District policies. Maintains all equipment, vehicles, buildings, and other district property as needed. Assists and coordinates with other departments and schools for specific help in district special projects. In consultation with the Warehouse Manager, determines viability of service requests made to the Central Warehouse. Assures that each assignment has sufficient materials and supplies. Assists the Warehouse Manager in hiring and performance decisions. Assigns personnel to handle workload and evaluates task completion for the scope of assigned areas of responsibility. Report all violations of policy requiring corrective discipline to Warehouse Manager. Non-essential Functions:

Understanding of the operations of the daily Central Warehouse operations for the district. Communication and leadership skills necessary to supervise, lead, and motivate fellow workers. Ability to collaborate in a team or group situation as well as dealing with school personnel, other departments, and the public. Basic computer and clerical skills. Basic accounting and math skills. Self-motivated and ability to work unsupervised. Understanding of the District Education Support Professionals (ESP) Negotiated Agreements and all Board policies that govern ESP employment. Understanding of District procurement policies. Knowledge of district time and attendance procedures. Ability to organize personnel for special projects. Ability to make decisions under pressure and work effectively with many interruptions. Working knowledge of each of the following:

vehicle driving; operating material handling equipment; scheduling; receiving/delivering of all types of deliveries; staging/sorting of all types of deliveries; routine preventive maintenance of equipment, trucks, and facility; and compliance to all standard operating procedures and general district policies.

Required Education, Training and Qualifications:

Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Requires a valid commercial driver's license (CDL). Required Prior Experience:

Two (2) years of successful, related work experience is preferred. Prior experience with Granite School District schools and locations, to include routes, stops, and delivery procedures, is preferred. Assigned Decision Making:

Assesses activities related to area of responsibility, handles emergencies, solves problems and makes related decisions. Empowered to troubleshoot and diagnose problems related to position and take appropriate action. Non-Supervisory Interaction:

Interacts with all levels of district and school administrators and warehouse personnel in meeting demands of job description. Interacts with others outside the school system to include freight companies, vendors, etc. Supervisory Responsibility:

Supervises the daily operations of Central Warehouse and assigned Warehouse Workers. Responsible for overseeing the completion of the daily workload and meeting deadlines. The Central Warehouse Lead must use supervisory skills to fulfill the scope of responsibility defined in the Essential Functions section of this job description. In collaboration with the Warehouse manager, responsible for workplace morale, personnel compliance to policy, skill level, and performance evaluation. Budget Responsibility:

Workflow is steady with continuous pressure to complete tasks in a variety of work assignments with involuntary interruption. Work is detail oriented. Supervisory responsibilities generate some stress with some deadlines. Some assignments are outside in heat, cold, dirt and inclement weather. Some hazards involved in driving, handling numerous quantities of all types of materials, and using material handling equipment. Workplace and equipment are in compliance with all OSHA requirements. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to speak and/or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, and crouch. The employee is occasionally required to use hands to handle or feel objects and must occasionally climb or balance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and depth perception. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.

Equipment provided for handling products over 70 pounds.
