The South Carolina Department of Health & Human Services (SCDHHS) is the State Medicaid Agency for South Carolina. The QA Analyst - Advanced will be assigned to multiple projects for SCDHHS. This role is ideal for candidates who enjoy working on complex, change-oriented projects and contributing to the successful implementation of large-scale healthcare IT systems.
Objectives / Responsibilities
The QA Analyst - Advanced is responsible for performing tests on technical solutions, isolating issues, analyzing results, and proposing solutions. Key responsibilities include:
Develop test plans, QA, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) processes and test cases for software development and product management teams. Design and execute user interface (UI) and regression testing for applications. Test software applications for reliability, stability, and usability, including negative testing. Lead projects to perform quality assessments to expose security flaws, defects, and optimization opportunities. Design and run automated testing scripts, supporting deployment of tests. Create QA documentation, reports, and maintain test databases for defects, user reviews, and functional improvements. Coordinate with product development teams and engineers to recommend solutions that maximize performance and efficiency. Conduct reviews, walkthroughs, and inspections, adhering to established governance standards. Translate business requirements and policy documentation into test cases and scenarios. Communicate and publish status reports for all open issues and gaps identified during testing, and articulate details to development teams. Required Skills / Experience (Ranked by Importance)

experience in large enterprise or e-business systems. Deep knowledge of healthcare operations (preferably Medicaid) and business processes. Proficiency with Atlassian tool suite (JIRA, Confluence). Prior experience working in standard SDLC (Waterfall) and Agile delivery environments. Required Education
Bachelor's degree in a technical, business, or related field. Equivalent years of experience can substitute for formal education. Required Certifications
None required, but technical and/or project management certifications from recognized sources are desirable. Daily Duties / Responsibilities Summary
Develop and execute test plans and test cases for functional, regression, and UAT. Perform manual and automated testing to ensure quality, stability, and usability. Identify and report defects and gaps to development teams. Maintain test documentation and QA reports. Collaborate with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to implement improvements. Conduct walkthroughs and inspections following governance standards.
