QUALIFICATIONS

High School Diploma or equivalent. Skilled in operating and maintaining various vehicles, lawn and garden equipment. Knowledge of building maintenance repair and equipment repairs, plumbing, heating, carpentry and electrical repairs. Ability to do heavy lifting and strenuous labor. Valid Pennsylvania Driver's License. E.P.A. Pesticide Spraying Permit is required. Special police training in traffic control. Ability to work cooperatively with staff and students. Such alternatives to above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable. JOB GOAL

The Utility Maintenance Worker, under the direct supervision of the Director of Operations & Maintenance and/or Head of Maintenance, is responsible for the uninterrupted operation of the school plant, ensuring that standards of comfort, cleanliness, efficiency, sanitation, safety and security are met.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Performs grounds mowing and maintenance tasks including aerating, seeding, fertilizing, dragging, and sodding of district grounds, operating and maintaining various vehicles and lawn and garden equipment and minor construction equipment, including their various attachments. Performs maintenance and repairs on grounds, roads, parking lots, and other paved areas to include patching, painting, line striping numbering and lettering Prepares athletic fields and tracks for events in accordance with PIAA regulations. Conducts scheduled preventive maintenance inspections, service and repairs of the buildings and equipment, and reports any unusual conditions and /or repairs to the Director of Operations and Maintenance and/or The Head of Maintenance. Manage & direct traffic flow before and after school to make sure that students arrive and depart school premises in a safe manner. Performs substitute custodial duties as needed. Regular and timely attendance. Performs other duties as may be assigned by the Director of Operations and Maintenance and/or Head of Maintenance.

12 month Position - Bargaining Unit Flexible and changing schedule with the possibility of day, night, weekend and/or holiday work. Compensation as per the SAESP Collective Bargaining Agreement and District guidelines. EVALUATION

Performance of this position will be evaluated annually by the Director of Operations and Maintenance in accordance with the Board's policy on evaluation of support staff.
