What You Will Do
- Implements lesson plans
- Helps lead teacher complete assessments and developmental screenings
- Maintains a caring, inclusive, classroom experience
- Maintains a safe environment by practicing active supervision
- Maintains a healthy learning environment by sanitizing materials
- Creates and keeps current an account on the Ohio Professional Registry including 10 hours of Ohio Approved training annually
- Communicates with families daily regarding their child’s progress and wellbeing
- Monitor children for illness and medical needs to prevent and respond to medical emergencies
- Remain compliant ODJFS Child Care Licensing Rules at all times
Additional Responsibilities
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Complies with all policies and standards.
- For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation.
- Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
Education
- Career Pathways Level (CPL) 3, preferably with either a Child Development Associates (CDA) Credential (Required) or
- 9 credits of college coursework in early childhood education or related field (Required)
Work Experience
- 1+ years in a licensed child care setting (Required)
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Knowledge of child development (Required proficiency)
- Knowledge of child development and Ohio’s Child Care Licensing rules. (Required proficiency)
- Ability to communicate effectively with families and children of all ages (Required proficiency)
- Computer skills such as Microsoft office products (Required proficiency)
- Web navigation including for online training purposes (Required proficiency)
- Virtual meeting programs such as zoom (Required proficiency)
- Ability to email, print and scan documents and photos (Required proficiency)
Licenses and Certifications
- Basic Life Support (BLS) First Aid and Communicable Disease Management training (Required within 90 Days)
- Child Abuse Recognition training (Required within 60 Days)
- Maintain current Professional Development Certificate in the Ohio Professional Registry (Required)
