Duties

  • Safely operate a variety of trucks, including tractor-trailers, delivery trucks, roll-off trucks, and tankers.
  • Transport goods and materials to and from specified destinations.
  • Load and unload cargo using forklifts or other equipment as necessary.
  • Follow all traffic laws and regulations while operating the vehicle.
  • Inspect vehicles for mechanical issues and perform basic maintenance tasks such as checking oil levels, tire pressure, and brakes.
  • Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and fuel usage.
  • Communicate with dispatchers and other team members to coordinate delivery schedules.

Qualifications

  • Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements.
  • Proven experience as a truck driver or similar role.
  • Ability to operate manual transmission vehicles.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures for commercial driving.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks associated with loading and unloading cargo.

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Strong understanding of winch truck operations and winching techniques.
  • Ability to operate, troubleshoot, and perform basic repairs on winch truck systems and equipment.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in oil and gas field operations.
  • Ability to recognize and mitigate potential hazards and ensure a safe working environment.
  • Effective verbal communication skills to coordinate with team members and report issues clearly.
  • Ability to follow instructions accurately and provide feedback on operational challenges.
  • Good physical condition to handle the demands of lifting, securing, and maneuvering heavy equipment and materials.
  • Ability to work in various environmental conditions, including extreme temperatures and rough terrain.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to address mechanical issues, logistical challenges, and operational obstacles.
  • Ability to make quick and informed decisions in emergencies.
  • Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accurate load securing, equipment maintenance, and compliance with safety standards.
  • Careful documentation of operational and maintenance activities.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience driving refrigerated trailers or tankers is a plus.
  • Familiarity with operating roll-off trucks or forklifts is an advantage.
